9th Annual Organizational Behaviour Case Competition
The Organizational Behaviour Case Competition (OBCC) is a place where students with a passion for HR gather annually to learn, discuss, network, and compete in a rigorous day-long case competition. This year OBCC will be a two-day event, taking place on Friday January 10th and Saturday January 11th, which will additionally include workshops and networking.
OBCC welcomes students, delegates, judges, speakers, and industry professionals. Several universities from across Ontario compete in the challenge, with first, second and third place cash prizes up for grabs. Delegate teams are given two hours to analyze and develop a well-planned presentation based on an existing business case.
Students also hear from speakers including a senior manager, entrepreneur and national director. They share their insights and experiences about how to build relationships in organizations, trends in the workplace, and the importance of hard work and effort in order to move up in companies.
This competition provides all who attended with a better understanding of how strategically involved the human resources function currently is within organizations. People previously believed that human resources was a simple administrative support function and with changing attitudes and realizations, people now understand differently. This competition, through the real life-based case, provides a venue and medium for delegates to ingrain this idea, demonstrating to students that the effective utilization of HR students and professionals are key strategic components to an organization in order to ensure their employees and management can operate to the best of their abilities and succeed in the competitive industries in which they operate.
Registration for this exciting weekend will begin in the first week of November. A Delegate Registration Package will also be posted soon. Delegate fees this year will be $150.00 per delegate, and schools are welcome to have teams of 3 to 4 members. Any other inquires can be directed to email@example.com!
